Synopsis:
Folchart Mortimer (Brendan Fraser) has a unique talent. He was able to 'turn' fictional character in the book the story just by reading it aloud.
Mortimer realized this talent when he read a story to his daughter Meggie (Eliza Bennett). When he read that tale, suddenly there are figures who are living in fairy tale books and appeared in front of Mortimer. Unfortunately, this talent has a bad effect. When the characters in this fairy tale world comes to the world, then automatically there are people who should take his place in the world of fairy tales.
Mortimer never going to tell on her mystery disappearance of her mother Theresa (Sienna Guillory), who is actually absorbed into the world of fairy tales when Mortimer 'turn' figures Capricorn (Andy Serkis). Now Capricorn who have evil intentions trying to force Mortimer to 'turn' is also another evil figures to help the evil intentions of Capricorn.
