Republican Party of India (RPI) leader Ramdas Athavale said Sunday that his party will not allow the theaters in the coming Maharashtra Prakash Jha screen release "Aarakshan" if the film does not change its "anti-Dalit" stance.

"The film seems to be trying to put a division between Dalits and others," Athavale said.

The threat of RPI leader came a day after the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC), also called the film "anti-Dalit."

NCSC Prakash Jha had asked to screen the film for a panel before its launch on August 12.

According to Athavale, president of NL Punia panel wanted to make sure the film does not distort the stand of the Constitution and laws on the reservation.

"However, the selection took place. Let's wait for the opening movie and then protest against it promotes an anti-Dalit," says Athavale.

"Aarakshan" starring Amitabh Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone is on reservations in the Indian education system. Khan plays a Dalit teacher.

The Censor Board has cleared the film with a U / A certificate.
