Rumors of pregnancy and baby photos have been common blow for French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy recently and now the singer / actress has confirmed that she is pregnant.

The 43-year-old told the French newspaper Nice-Matin (via People) that her pregnancy is "happiness comes, unexpected, and unexpected."

She kept quiet about rumors that she is expecting a child with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

"That I did not even know myself. There are certain things one must keep in secret," he told the newspaper.

He also remained vague about his due date - some have said is 5 months along.

Carla, who recently appeared in Woody Allen's latest film, "Midnight in Paris" with Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams, said it is also hard at work on a new album. Previously, he was featured in the soundtrack of "(500) Days of Summer."
