SyFy The channel is celebrating its fourth year of July marathon of old episodes of Twilight Zone today and tomorrow. If you are an experienced fan of Rod Serling's masterpieces, or new to the show, now is the time to get your episodes fill. The carried back until midnight on Monday night.

The show, which originally ran from 1959-1964, shows some of the most brilliant TV writing ever seen. Yes, the special effects are cheesy by today's standards, but Serling did an amazing job making creepy stories to life.

If you are an old friend of The Twilight Zone, or if you have never seen some of the episodes are about the programs. He was named number 26 in TV Guide's list of the greatest TV shows of all time 50. That alone says something to the genius of Serling. SyFy is doing a great service to air this year. Everyone should see.

Listed are just some of the emblematic episodes not to be missed:

It's a good life

Bill Mumy, Will Robinson the original "Lost in Space" fame, takes a turn as a child, not as sweet as holding hostage an entire city.

I Sing the Body Electric

A widowed father buys his three children, a grandmother electronics, which pleases everyone, but one of the children.

A Quality of Mercy

During a battle, a soldier World War II American racist mysteriously found in the body of his Japanese counterpart.

Kick the Can

A simple children's game allows a group of elderly people that, indeed, can regain their youth.

The monsters are due on Maple Street

A blackout causes paranoid neighbors to suspect each other of being disguised creatures from outer space.

To Serve Man

Friendly aliens show mankind how to correct the ills of society.

These are just some of the fantastic offers from The Twilight Zone. Not only are the inspiring stories truly impressive, but seeing some of the legendary actors of today in their younger days is nothing less than a wonderful gift. William Shatner appeared in several episodes before anyone had heard of Star Trek, like Leonard Nimoy. Great film as Ida Lupino, Ron Howard, Burt Reynolds, Burgess Meredith and many others took a turn in an episode or two.

Not only are the episodes beautifully writter, but the social commentary of many still remains today.

Take an episode or three between the cookouts and fireworks. You will not regret.
