New York City restaurant has been launched, with more than 320 restaurants offering fixed price menus for lunch and dinner.
NYC & Company says that participating restaurants offer three course meal at the same prices as in 2006 - $ 24.07 for lunch and $ 35 for dinner.
However, few restaurants in Brooklyn are taking part, so I understand why observers Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz has promoted one week apart Brooklyn restaurant.
A "neighborhood" search on the site of NYC & Company Restaurant Week is presented only three restaurants in Brooklyn.
One is the famed River Café Fulton Ferry Landing. The description in the Restaurant Week site says: "Few restaurants can match the location of the River Cafe in Brooklyn, beneath the Brooklyn Bridge, looking across the East River in midtown Manhattan skyline. And although it has been in business since 1977, O'Keeffe" Buzzy "owner Michael has always been vigilant about first class service, food, luxury settings invention."
Another is the Greenhouse Café, 7717 Third Ave. in Bay Ridge. The online description reads, in part, "There is almost always a party at the Greenhouse Café, a popular Bay Ridge, Brooklyn where many local residents celebrate their weddings, anniversaries and other special events. But it is also a good and welcoming place to have an intimate meal, especially if you are a meat eater. "
The third restaurant is a reference point, 339A Second St. in Park Slope. According to the description "reference has a menu of the Americas was centered in animals raised on pasture and locally grown produce. Jaronik Chef Ryan has created a varied menu that blends traditional and contemporary. A selection of dishes letter, the steaks are available in five different cuts, including a 24-ounce bone rib eye. "
Not a word about many of the most famous restaurants of the city, such as Peter Luger in Williamsburg, Teddy, in Williamsburg, Coney Island Gargiulo, Marco Polo in Carroll Gardens and many others. No wonder there is a Brooklyn restaurant week separately!
