After nearly five years of being ignored by the Academy in the category of drama, cult film Friday Night Lights football series is set to compete for a trophy on September 18 Emmy Awards.

Nominated for a whopping 37 times in the past, the FNL takes home an Emmy Award - in 2007 - for efforts to cast the series. Katims and his team are confident that the main actors FNL this year, Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton will be victorious in their respective categories of the Emmy.

"I'm very proud of Kyle and Connie for their well-deserved recognition," continues Katims of actors, starring as Coach Eric Taylor and his wife, Tami. "Individually, they have extraordinary hues and together they have created one of the sweetest and most poignant representations of marriage on television."
Emmy recognition program comes just days before the FNL says goodbye forever, wrapped its fifth and final season on Friday at 8 pm (EST) on NBC.
