PAGASA-DOST MTSAT-EIR Satellite Image for 11 p.m., 02 August 2011 At 2:00 p.m. today, Typhoon "KABAYAN" was located based on satellite and surface data at 1,130 km east Northeast of Basco, Batanes (22.7°N 134.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 165 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 200 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 11 kph.
Meanwhile, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was located based on satellite and surface data at 130 km West of Sinait,Ilocos Sur (18.0°N 119.3°E).
