MySpace (remember?) Founder, Tom Anderson has his own thoughts about the battle between the social network, Facebook, and new candidate, the search engine Google.
Anderson referred to the announcement of Facebook last week that the talks were adding video to Skype. According to PCMag.com, Anderson said MySpace was one in a video chat in 2004, and the Skype video calls in 2007.
"People were not ready for it then, now is the time, and FB have the user base," said Anderson.
CNN reports the Facebook version of Skype will appear as a "call" at the top of the profile pages of users. Clicking or find someone in a new "buddy list" on the right to bar users, Facebook with webcams can have visual conversations. Facebook adds new service to millions of users on Wednesday and plans to add more over time.
The New York Times mentions that Facebook does not allow more than two participating in video chats. Skype chats with a group, but costs $ 9 users per month. Facebook is to warn users that some computers may have problems with hardware or software compatible with the service.
Tom Anderson on MySpace last post was March 1.
On his Facebook page, which seems wrong, he said, "I started MySpace in 2003, sold it in 2005 to NewsCorp for $ 580 million, and stayed there to work until April 2009. Now a new owner bought MySpace News Corp.'m not a fan of the new MySpace, but the heart of the team was in the right place. Maybe the new owner has good ideas. "
According to startribune. com, Skype is taking a calculated risk to expand its user base. Access to 750 million Facebook users up Skype, which has about 170 million regular users.
Skype is also considering starting the Facebook payment services, such as the ability to call any phone while using Facebook.
