With hundreds of thousands of people attending San Diego Comic-Con every year and July 20 to 24 event kicking off this week, The Hollywood Reporter spoke with the biggest names in television to talk about their favorite memories and tips attending the annual event. THR Live Feed Comic-Con talk with actors, writers and producers in the days before the event to go before the interviews and the latest news on the panels and projections.
Manny Coto
Geek Cred: Dexter, 24, Star Trek: Enterprise, The Outer Limits
Comic-Con panel: Dexter (Showtime show) Thursday, 5:30-7:30 pm, Room 20.
THR: What is one thing that stands out from his first Comic-Con?
Coto: I have been going on and off since the 80's. My first group was 24. But I do remember walking down a hallway and the search for Harlan Ellison, one of my favorite science fiction writers, stand, describing in great detail his recent open heart surgery and showing the scar. Fans only ate a little.
THR: What is the best thing a fan has said to you at Comic-Con?
Coto: I found Season 4 Star Trek: Enterprise and the best we've heard from fans is: "The season of Enterprise was the best season of all the Star Treks," which always makes my heart warm . I started as a fan of Star Trek, and to be able to work in the series was a great honor.

THR: Who throws the best party?
Coto: The Showtime is my favorite. Dexter last year was just a big party. It's a great atmosphere at the top of the roof, overlooking the city. And I can smoke cigars there, so it was fun.
THR: What makes for a good presentation?
Coto: Remember that the fans want to hear things in the series because they do not want to hear complaints and grouses about his personal life. What I really want to hear is how the series was done and how it relates to his castmates. Throw out as many interesting facts you can about how the series actually works and works. It is also always good to have funny stories to tell while you're there. I think many times people go there and I do not remember that we are there to entertain.
THR: What questions do you recommend that fans do for the panels?
Coto: "Why did you mess up X Season" "What were you thinking when you wrote that episode?" Keep a positive attitude.
THR: What advice would you give to Comic-Con newbies?
Coto: Do not dress, unless you look good in tights. Is it a real self-worth on their physical condition: "Do I really look like Captain America or as a nightmare version of a person of Captain America in this team?" There are children there, and wants to leave people with a positive experience. As a real kind of self-awareness of his own physical body and the type, and try to use deodorant as much as possible.
THR: What special group to queue all day for?
Coto: I wait in line for anything to do with Doctor Who. And Ray Bradbury.
THR: If you could create your dream panel, which would be in it?
Coto: I would be William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Jon Voight, Kiefer Sutherland. A little something for everyone.
THR: Have you ever dressed up?
Coto: No, but I dress my son. Last year was over and went as Captain James T. Kirk. Kirk was a little onesie and indeed it seemed that he imagines a young Kirk: has blond hair and looked very similar to Kirk, and he has lots of photos.
THR: If you could be a writer in any show, in addition to Dexter, what would it be?
Coto: Doctor Who. My fantasy is, if I was not in Dexter I would move my family to London and work for the BBC's Doctor Who.
THR: If you could restart any program, what would it be?
Coto: I reboot Star Trek, a young William Shatner. William Shatner clone: If I start now, 15 years, we would have a young Kirk. Somebody needs to talk with Shatner to make DNA a little before his death, since it is not so far in terms of geeks. Fifteen years is a long time, 15 years will be here before we know it and we could have a young Captain Kirk. Do you think my wife would agree to carry to term? That's interesting. Honey?
THR: What are three things you would do if you have run any other program?
Coto: I only see a couple of things right now: Doctor Who - and I would not trade it for Doctor Who - A Game of Thrones and slaughter. Three things I'd do A Game of Thrones: I a) do not kill Sean Bean b) Do not kill Sean Bean, and c) get the winter here a little earlier.
THR: How will Edward James Olmos in the figure of Dexter this season?
Coto: Dexter going to rock world in a way similar to Season 4. Dexter is going to have to confront a villain who has absolutely faced. It has become the death of Rita, and returned to his old self. So ironic sensibility is back, but we're also taking the show to the next level and will be a great season storm.
