Ajay Devgn and producer NR Pachisia have jointly bagged the remake rights of Telugu hit Maryada Ramanna [2010] months ago, Ajay is keen to start the film with him in the lead. Maryada Ramanna, a comedy drama grossed Rs 28 crores at the Telugu BO.
“Sonam Kapoor is the preferred choice for Ajay as he is of the opinion that their pair will be fresh but talks are still going on with the actress”, said a source. Add to that, Sonam has no big films in her kitty, so who knows she might star in the remake.
Earlier there were reports that Ajay was interested in doing one of the negative roles but the source suggests that he will be playing the main lead. The film will be directed Ashwani Dhir, who has worked with the actor in Atithi Tum Kab Joange?
