• It is the fourth of July, so there's no better time than now to some patriots (and new) programming.
For example, you can tune into PBS at 9 for "A Capitol Fourth 2011." The show will feature a concert to celebrate the United States, including performances by Steve Martin, Josh Groban, Matthew Morrison, Jordin Sparks, Little Richard and the cast of "millions of dólares''del Quartet and Kelli O'Hara.
National Symphony Orchestra will also perform.
"A quarter of 2011 Capitol" can be seen in WOUC-TV Channel 44 (cable Channel 12) and WEAO / WNEO-TV Channels 45/49 (cable Channel 14).
• You can tune in to NBC 20:00 t the annual "Macy's fourth of July fireworks spectacular." The show, broadcast live from New York, will feature plenty of entertainment and fireworks. Tune WKYC-TV Channel 3 and Channel 9 WTOV-TV.
• The annual "Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular" conveys t 21:00 on CBS, and can be seen on WOIO-TV Channel 19 (cable Channel 10). The show will feature Michael Chiklis as the host of the annual presentation ceremony fireworks accompanied by music from the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra.
• It has been shown on television before, but I think for the Fourth of July, we make an exception, so tune in to Turner Classic Movies (cable Channel 50) at 8 pm for "Yankee Doodle Dandy," a 1942 film starring James Cagney.
Cagney won an Oscar as best actor for his portrayal of the legendary song and dance man George M. Cohan. The film focuses on Cohan's life from his early years in vaudeville with the family for the success on Broadway and in the First World War and beyond.
