Porsche Automobil Holding SE, commonly abbreviated as Porsche SE (German pronunciation: [pɔʁʃə] [3]) a public company Societas Europaea or European, is a German holding based on investments in the automotive industry.
Porsche SE is headquartered in Zuffenhausen, a city district of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg and is owned by the Porsche and Piech families, and holdings of Qatar, through the Qatar Investment Authority (10%) [4 ]. GmbH through its investment in Zwischenholding Porsche, which owns 50.1% Dr. Ing. hc F. Porsche AG, which is the manufacturer of a wide range of sports cars and SUVs, and 50.7% of Volkswagen AG.
The company was founded as the Dr. Ing. hc F. Porsche GmbH in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche, [5] an Austrian-born engineer Maffersdorf, during the Austro-Hungarian Empire (now Vratislavice nad Nisou, Czech Republic) and his son-in-law, Anton Piech Porsche, an advocate Austria.
