Synopsis:

Taiwanese filmmaker Ang Lee took a break from making Western period dramas to fashion this wild and woolly martial arts spectacular featuring special effects and action sequences courtesy of the choreographer of The Matrix (1999), Yuen Woo Ping. In the early 19th century, martial arts master Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun-Fat) is about to retire and enter a life of meditation, though he quietly longs to avenge the death of his master, who was killed by Jade Fox (Cheng Pei-pei). He gives his sword, a fabled 400-year-old weapon known as Green Destiny, to his friend, fellow martial arts wizard and secret love Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh), so that she may deliver it to Sir Te (Sihung Lung). Upon arrival in Peking, Yu happens upon Jen (Zhang Ziyi), a vivacious, willful politician's daughter. That night, a mysterious masked thief swipes Green Destiny, with Yu in hot pursuit -- resulting in the first of several martial arts action set pieces during the film. Li arrives in Beijing and eventually discovers that Jen is not only the masked thief but is also in cahoots with the evil Jade. In spite of this, Li sees great talent in Jen as a fighter and offers to school her in the finer points of martial arts and selflessness, an offer that Jen promptly rebukes. This film was first screened to much acclaim at the 2000 Cannes, Toronto, and New York film festivals and became a favorite when Academy Awards nominations were announced in 2001: Tiger snagged ten nods and later secured four wins for Best Cinematography, Score, Art Direction, and Foreign Language Film.

Synopsis:

Lok Yan (Miriam Yeung) was ditched by her fiancé on their wedding day. Thereafter she started to work her way up to become a wedding planner, gaining fame planning wedding for many acclaimed celebrities. One night, in a bar, she meets a young attorney, Fung (Raymond Lam), and they spend a passionate night together in a hotel – with no plans to never meet again. Fate brings them together again at a wedding. Their one night stand now becomes a debt dispute since Fung’s boss owes Yan’s company fees for 30 weddings. When Fung’s boss runs away, Fung is left to clear the debt and so he starts working for Yan.

While working together to organize successful weddings, they face and overcome many challenges and begin to feel affection for each other. But love is never simple – especially for Yan whose four close girlfriends do not approve of her relationship with Fung because they think he is too young for her. Yan further complicates the situation by keeping Fung at a distance because of the painful memories of her failed relationships.

Fung disapproves of portraying a wedding as a show and after a big fight with Yan he almost quits the company – but Yan sees his point of view and they reach a compromise. Together they organize a touching wedding which marks the start of a new relationship between them. They spend a wonderful night together at Yan’s place and decide to start a romantic relationship secretly.

Just as Yan’s painful memories of previous failed relationships begins to fade, her ex-boyfriend, Joe (Eric Kot), turns up again. Joe is about to get married but realizes he still misses Yan and tries to win her back. Yan is confused and undecided and this destroys her relationship with Fung, even though she rejects Joe. Although Yan and Fung still love each other, they part and begin new separate relationships….

Synopsis:

Synopsis:


As a sequel to the brilliant "Gods Must Be Crazy` by Jamie Uys this movie is quite passable. I think, everybody loves N!xau, the bushman who never even tried to learn other languages than his own (which makes up the main difference between him and other screen "savages` like Tarzan or George of the Jungle). We want to see him and so we don't care about what happens around him. Sending him to Hong Kong is a lovely idea.


Of course, apart from some successful scenes, the movie is unintentionally funny at best. The actors and actresses from Hong Kong are so helplessly bad and amateurish that sometimes it's rather embarrassing to watch them. But also the guy playing the American boss - didn't they have enough money to employ a professional actor? The story is silly, the characters are most implausible - these facts disturb a little, after all: the movie doesn't do justice to Jamie Uys at all, although it features some references to the first part. Still, as long as we can see N!xau, we tolerate everything else.

What will he do next? Maybe, he becomes a film star and doesn't even notice. He could also take part at the Olympic Games. Whatever: I'm expecting the next N!xau film. As long as he doesn't learn English, it's okay with me.

Synopsis:

During the Ming Dynasty, the Emperor of China possessed one weapon greater than all others, the Jin Yi Wei, an elite force of assassins recruited from street orphans.

Trained in clandestine combat from childhood, the Jin Yi Wei were masters of the 14 Blades, eight being for torture, five for killing, and the last blade being reserved for suicide when a mission failed. However unbeknownst to Qing Long, the Jin Yi Wei have fallen under the control of Jia, and during the mission Qing Long is betrayed by Xuan Wu and barely escapes with his life.

Now as the most wanted man in the land Qing Long must seek out and rally the loyalists to rise against Jia and restore the Emperor to power. Will Qing Long win the battle in the end?

Synopsis:

L for Love L for Lies is the movie who directed by Patrick Kong. This movie tells about relationships sucking. Fong is Henry, a conman who specializes in using his charms to bilk unsuspecting women out of their dough. Or is his name Keung? Hell, he even goes by Owen, but his multiple identities makes sense, because he's supposed to be a duplicitous rat bastard who's only out for his own money-grubbing hide. However, Henry gets a chance at redemption when he falls in with Bobo (Stephy Tang), a sweet, naive, and rather foolish girl who first meets him canoodling with an old school chum. Soon after, she hears that Henry has absconded with her pal's dough, and when chancing upon him again, she realizes that he's a despicable conman who's up to no good. Henry lives up to his billing, threatening Bobo with, um, something if she tells the cops that she's seen him. Given her mousy, sweet nature, she is cowed and agrees to shut her trap.

Synopsis:

Vietnamese Lady is the Hong Kong movie who tells about HK businessman Kiu doesn't have time to woo a girl. On a trip to Saigon, he offers financial help to poor girl Shun's (very troubled !) family if she'll come and live with him. With a sense of duty but no love, she agrees, too timid to even tell boyfriend Lik just after losing her virginity to him. Love fails to blossom between Shun and Kiu in HK, and Kiu starts to drink heavily. Sandy, Kiu's luscious secretary takes advantage and gets it off with him in the gym and digusts Shun in the process. Shun gets drunk and is picked up in a bar, nearly raped, and rescued then befriended by a fellow Vietnamese, a photographer, in what is clearly a setup. Turns out Sandy is behind this ruse as well, to get Shun out of the way and have Kiu all to herself. But things don't go according to anyone's plan. Will Shun give up Kiu and his money to go back to Lik ? Will Sandy hold her nerve and push ahead ? Will the guys Sandy paid to set up Shun have their way with Sandy instead ?
