Synopsis:

Synopsis:

Taiwanese filmmaker Ang Lee took a break from making Western period dramas to fashion this wild and woolly martial arts spectacular featuring special effects and action sequences courtesy of the choreographer of The Matrix (1999), Yuen Woo Ping. In the early 19th century, martial arts master Li Mu Bai (Chow Yun-Fat) is about to retire and enter a life of meditation, though he quietly longs to avenge the death of his master, who was killed by Jade Fox (Cheng Pei-pei). He gives his sword, a fabled 400-year-old weapon known as Green Destiny, to his friend, fellow martial arts wizard and secret love Yu Shu Lien (Michelle Yeoh), so that she may deliver it to Sir Te (Sihung Lung). Upon arrival in Peking, Yu happens upon Jen (Zhang Ziyi), a vivacious, willful politician's daughter. That night, a mysterious masked thief swipes Green Destiny, with Yu in hot pursuit -- resulting in the first of several martial arts action set pieces during the film. Li arrives in Beijing and eventually discovers that Jen is not only the masked thief but is also in cahoots with the evil Jade. In spite of this, Li sees great talent in Jen as a fighter and offers to school her in the finer points of martial arts and selflessness, an offer that Jen promptly rebukes. This film was first screened to much acclaim at the 2000 Cannes, Toronto, and New York film festivals and became a favorite when Academy Awards nominations were announced in 2001: Tiger snagged ten nods and later secured four wins for Best Cinematography, Score, Art Direction, and Foreign Language Film.

Synopsis:

At the beginning of World War II, American pilot Robert Smith is taking part in the effort to help China fight against the Japanese forces. During a liaison cargo mission from India to China, his cargo plane crashes somewhere in Tibet. Yongcho is a young single mother, and the tribe she belongs to is the descendant of the Evil Kingdom, which was conquered by the hero-Gesar King many years ago. Since her earliest age, she's been a castaway by her own tribe, because she is thought a "cursed woman" as an incarnation of evil. After surviving the crash, Robert tries to find his way back to his force, but the harsh elements are almost stronger than his will to survive: he finds himself snow-blind and finally falls in a faint in the blizzard. Robert follows the footprint of people and arrives at the tribe. Fair-haired Robert is regarded as a "monster" by the tribe. People think that the arrival of a stranger is considered another bad omen...

Synopsis:

A spider lily is a flower that is said to line along the pathway to Hell. It contains poison which will cause one to lose our memory. Memories are central to the story, as the characters involved are questioned as to whether their memories are faulty, and if one can choose to repress them in the attempt to forget, be they happier times, or times of woe.

Jade (Rainie Yang) is an Internet web-cam girl, living with her grandma, and making a living out of smut, enticing men to trade money for moments of online peek-a-boo pleasure. She has a love since 9 years of age, and it is the relationship with Takeko (Isabella Leong), a tattooist, that forms the fulcrum of the story. Takeko herself bears a strong spider lily tattoo on her left arm, and it is something that Jade wants for herself, trying to rekindle and capture memories of her lost love, now found again.

Synopsis:

Aga left Hengchun for Taipei in the hope of becoming the singer in a band. After ten years of hard work, he returns home, his dream unfulfilled, and soon gets a job at the local post office. Tomoko is a Japanese model going down in popularity who is just asked to put together a local warm-up band for an upcoming Japanese super star beach concert to be held in Hengchun. However, recruiting the band members proves to be difficult a task as the search for the famous seven samurai. Still, seven ordinary Hengchun residents end up forming the band.

One day, Aga receives a parcel from Japan not meant for him – in fact, it was to have been delivered at Cape No.7., an address that doesn’t exist anymore… But even though he cannot find the address, Aga doesn’t return the parcel to Japan. Rather, he opens it to find love letters written some 60 years ago by a Japanese teacher and addressed to a Taiwanese girl he was deeply in love with, but had to leave behind Taiwan.

During the process of putting the band together, Aga and Tomoko are constantly at odds with each other, but thanks to the love letters, their conflict-ridden relationship slowly turns into love.

And even though they eventually find the lady the parcel was meant for, it seems that Aga and Tomoko are destined to follow the same footsteps as the girl and the teacher in their own love story… Tomoko must now decide whether she will stay together with Aga or go back to Japan alone

Synopsis:

Kidd (Andy Lau) a police officer from the year 2080 and his wife Millie (Bingbing Fan) are summoned to protect Dr. Masterson (Jingwu Ma), who is known as the "Father of Solar Energy" due to creating a cheap method to replace fossil fuel with solar energy. Because of Dr. Masterson's creation, oil tycoons have made several attempts on the life of Dr. Masterson. The Special Force of the police department has received credible information that an army of humanoids (half-man/half-machine) led by Kalon (Siu-Wong Fan) & Fiona (Yifei Tang) are set to ambush Dr. Masterson at the Convention Center.

At the Convention Center a fierce battle ensues that leaves Kidd's wife Millie and all of the humanoids dead, except for Kalon & Fiona.

The oil tycoons then steal the secrets of time travel to send revamped 2.0 versions of Kalon & Fiona to the year 2020 to murder Dr. Masterson when he was a 12 year old kid.

The government learns of the oil tycoons plans to go back in time and this is when Kidd volunteers to have radical surgery to transform himself into a bionic man with mechanical arms and legs. He then travels back to 2020 with his daughter Kiki, who will go to the same school as the young Dr. Masterson. Kidd works as a police officer in 2020, to avoid suspicion of his background, while fellow police officer Holly (Barbie Hsu) becomes attracted to Kidd. Knowing he will go back to 2080 after his mission is complete he is unable to return Holly's affection for him.
